    The Reference and Lending Libraries are open daily from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. The News room is open daily from 9 30 a.m. until 9 30 p.m. On Wednesdays the Library is closed until 6 p.m., with the exception of the News-room, which is open from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. On Sundays the News Room is open from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m.

    The jurisdiction of this Court extends over the following townships, namely:- Wigan, Abram, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Aspull, Billinge-Chapel-End, Billinge-Higher-End, Blackrod, Dalton, Haigh, Hindley, Ince-in-Makerfield, Orrell, Parbold, Pemberton, Shevington, Standish-with-Langtree, Upholland, Winstanley, Worthington, and Wrightington.
    If the sum sought to be recovered exceeds £2, the Plaintiff must leave at the Registrar's Office as many copies of the particulars of his demand or cause of action as there are Defendants, with an additional copy to file.
    Plaints must be entered twenty days before the same are tried.
    Fees on Summonses and Executions must be paid when the same are applied for. Hearing Fees must be paid before the case is called.
    Money paid out of Court to Suitors, and Searches made, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays only, on production of the Plaint Notes.
    Registrar's Office, King Street, Wigan. Office hours from 10 to 4, and on Saturdays from 10 to 1.
F E E S .
    On entering every case, 1s. in the pound, and 1s. extra in each case where the amount exceeds 40s.
    For every judgement by consent or by default, 1s. in the pound.
    For every hearing, 2s. in the pound.
    For every summons or commitment, 9d. per pound for the first two pounds; afterwards, 3d. per pound.
    For every hearing of such summons, 6d. in the pound.
    For every warrant, 1s. 6d. in the pound.
    For every jury, 5s.
    All fractions of a pound to be charged as an entire pound. The fees of all sums above £20 to be reckoned on £20 only.
