I am led to believe that Helen was cremated and that her ashes are in the garden of remembrance in the grounds of St James Church in Poolstock. If you require more information then you will probably need to contact the church.

Dave have you tried looking at the Lancashire Parish Clerks Online website. It is an excellent site for finding our forebears, easy to use & run freely by volunteers .
I have had great success & think the Lancashire site is the best group in England.

Hi, I am searching my family oi Wigan. My GGrandfather ran the Whitehorse Hotel in Standishgate. He died in 1900 and not sure how long he was there or if he owned it or not. My grandfather was born in 1887 and my father in 1909. I am interested to find out about there lives there before moving to Canada in 1927 & 1928. Can anyone tell me where I can search school records, work records etc. In 1959 while serving in the RCNavy I went to Wigan and visited there old home on Sprinfield St. and met a friend of my Dad's by the name of Stringfellow. I wish I was into Genealogy then. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Dave Bell

If you click on Album & then People you will find that Martin Pearce had posted 3 lots of photos of an Alker Family. This family lived at Holland Moor which was an area on the outskirts of Wigan. There are some names with the photos so you could look there for any information.

Started by wanting to find details of cemetery records for Wigan to find where my gt grandparents are buried. They were Thomas Byrne and Sarah Louisa Nee Simmons. Thomas was born 1866 at Ballylinch, County Kilkenny and Sarah b1869 in Wiltshire. They married in Barnet, Middlesex in 1901. I'd love to find any descendants of their children.
