Act of Parliament

Act of Parliament making the River Douglas, alias Asland, navigable from the River Ribble to Wigan in the County Palatine of Lancaster, dated 1714 and printed in 1720.

Interesting piece of history telling about how it would be beneficial to trade, for the transportation of Coals, Cannel, Stone, Slate etc... The river, alias Asland, to be made passable with boats from the River Ribble to a place called "Miry-Lane End".
