Singha, B.A., Indian missionary, spoke at Queen's Hall, Wigan, on native life and trade problems. - First Wigan "Flying Flea" tested at Hindley. - Second annual show of Wigan Cage Bird Society: Reference to the Society's proposed appeal for a public aviary in Mesnes Park. - Announcement that Northern Counties' Motor and Engineering Works, Wigan Lane, which had been closed down, would be re-opened by a new private company in the New Year.

Rev. C. E. Hains dedicated Book of Remembrance at St. George's Church, Wigan. - Death of Mr. Arthur Wilson Bibby, the Merseyside shipowner, who was a son-in-law of the late Mr. Thomas Heald, a former Mayor of Wigan, in his 90th year.

Approaches to Wrightington Bridge closed to vehicular traffic for three months from this date during reconstruction of the bridge, which is scheduled as an ancient monument.

Announcement that Rev. Thomas Halliwell, vicar of St. George's, Wigan, had been appointed vicar of St. Peter's, Chorley. - Mayor and Corporation attended service of hallowing of Wigan Parish Church bells, after the re-casting of the peal.
