Hello unable to register at mo but hoping someone out there knows something about Adam Mather (1858) born in the St. Helen's area. He married Elizabeth Brierley. Looking for descendants of above. Also descendants of Joseph Henry Green and Jane Mather. Help! Many thanks.

Have just read the recently published The Road to Wigan Pier Revisited by Stephen Armstrong and it concentrates on life today especially for the poor and disadvantaged. It has lots to say about life in the north with quite a few references to Wigan. It gives you much to think about.Well worth a read.
