Children of Patricia Rain Sudworth are planning a week vacation in honour of her 70 th birthday Feb 17 to her ever talked about Wigan Ashton Makerfield and Bryn roots.John and Ruth Twiss Sudworth were her great grands . Trip will be in May. She wants to walk the ground of her ancestors and leave many of her writings in the hearts of all Sudworths esp The Cry Of The Miner.

I'm trying to register with Wigan World as I see a thread regarding my ancestors who originated in the Wigan area. However, the site will not allow new registrations. Will this be fixed, as I want to contact a poster who has info on my family tree?

Cant remember where abouts in the Wigan area the said tree was, it wasnt a tree just put up for the festivities, it had been planted about a year ago & was decorated for Christmas. The locals interviewed on the show said they thought the council was being miserly...even had a councillor putting her pennyworth in....no rats to be seen or smelt !

Lectriclegs, I didnt hear the story about the Christmas Tree on Radio Norfolk, it was aired on the BBC, Jeremy Vine lunchtime programme.

Why would a radio station in Norwich broadcast something about a Christmas tree in Wigan?

Hi I'm trying to trace John Crompton he has family from Wigan they moved recently if this was you could you e-mail me please your Dad died about 11 -12 months ago he like all men of that age worked at Wagon & Iron as a wheel right I think.
