Recently located death of ggrandfather FINNEY GOULD March 1909 in WIGAN. Is it possible for someone to locate his obituarie in a local newspaper or cemetery in which he is buried. Your help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to get in touch with my Dad who is Denis Speakman I was in contact with him but then lost contact. Would love to speak to him again. And I think this site is fantastic for people that use to live in Wigan and its great, its a chance to catch up. Thanxs for a fantastic site.

went through the wigan streets bit and couldnt find a single one from where i used to live in hindley still good to look through though.

I'm told that wiganers "Drink" the grease of the top of a pie, if this is true, it's one of the funniest things I've heard. Do we have evidence?

The photo purporting to be the exist of the Great haigh Sough is wrong!! The exit is circa 200 yards further along the stream. The original stonework is still in place.

A pumping station has rencently been installed to pick up the effluent and run it through reed beds to precipitate the iron oxide before letting it run back into the Yellow Brook and thence into the River Douglas.

i think u have very beautiful pictures but i would love to see more pictures of the parks and thats stuff..
