I was wondering if anyone would know about the following places:
Pagefield Pub
Cross Street Mills owned by William Mawdsley located off Caroline St.
St Andrews Primary that was open in 1951. The one I found info about that is open now isn't the same one. My mum said it had a black fence around it but is all she remembers.

the site is great! My mum & grandmum was from Wigan and left in 1951. I have been looking for some old places my mum remembered but still can't find some but what I have seen here has helped to see how Wigan is and was during my ancestors time. Thanks!!

This is family history.

By asking for the names of (Jemima) (William and Sarah, married 1842) Broadstock and Olarenshaw, someone sent me records of the same. We know some of the data, we're looking for more; and that might mean going back to the late 1700's.

I know that the grandfather came from Wigan Thomas Ashcroft born about 1781 I can find nothing on Martha Hardcore Who married the son Richardborn 1816.

this is still all new to me but i have finaly joined the 21st century even at my age!!
