My mother was from Wigan. My dad met her there during WWII. I lived there for three years while my dad was stationed near there in 1959 after my mother died. Her name was May Langton. My brother and I lived with her sister & grandmother on Alfred St. We made many great friends there. Would love to hear from some of them. Derek Jolly, John Hindley and many more but have forgotten their names. I love Wigan and England. I will definately be back to visit web site. Great job.

Hello All, I am researching my family tree and have found family members from the Platt bridge and Haydock areas. The higginson family and Unsworth .

if anyone has any info they can supply or have come across the families, it would be much appreciated.

Joseph Higginson born 1857 Charnock i believe he married a Mary Unsworth from Haydock , children: Mary Ellen born 1882 Blackrod, Joseph born 1884 Blackrod, Margaret born 1885 Blackrod and Agnes born 1889 Aspull.
