I have been informed by a distant relative that he will have to pay £70 per day to travel into Manchester to work ,he currently owns and drives a Range Rover it is 12 years old , he his getting very worried ,i just cannot take it in that he will have to fork out so much just to get to work ,plus the petrol cost too.. Also who the hell came up with this ?? I would like to know if his vehicle was eg all electric is there no charge ??? GB .

If it was an electric vehicle, and there was 'no charge' then it is not going to go anywhere is it

You have to charge electric cars or they won't work

GB, you’re slow on the take-up mate! This has been discussed on here quite extensively.

In a nutshell …….

Commercial vehicles, vans, lorries will have to pay.
Private vehicles, cars, are exempt.

My son bought a new Toyota hybrid. He was impressed with it at first but he said it absolutely eats petrol when it is in a certain mode, but I can't remember which. He said "they aren't ready yet, are they?"
He took it back 11 months later and they exchanged a Volvo petrol for him.

GB: the clean air act is all about taxes, email our friend Burnham (Tonker will explain ahere Leigh xomea into this) and ask him how much he wants this year.

Leigh comes into this as it’s part of Greater Manchester. They’ve put a camera up on Atherton Road to collar van drivers going from Wigan to Leigh via Ince and Hindley.
But there’s several easy ways round it!
