I have a Photo of INCE Blast Furnace around 1860's ?
The family story goes that my great Grandpop fell into the top of the Ince Blast Furnace as he tipped in a charge.
He was rescued and placed in a bed of cotton wool for 12 months and with a feather carron oil was applied, when oncovered his skin was baby skin

Hello You are right HAROLD PIZZEY was born in sept 1920 in ince also HAROLD PIZZEY was born in 1940 in hindley but FRANCES RAYNER i can not find her born any wear in wigan.

Hi,never got round to writting to the paper, this is better, am researching partners family tree, his name is William Allen, he left Abram in 1948 so has had no contact with his fathers side of the family. His father was also called William, married to a Phoebe Stretton, also from Abram, do know he is buried with his father and mother in Ince church yard, would be great if anyone out their can help. Any Spargo' in Adelaide?. Possible names are,
Agnes Margaret and Dereck, their parents, Alf and ? lived in Elm ave' Worsley Hall, they had brothers Alf and Ken and sister May, we are related by parent Alf was my grandmothers sister, any takers??.

Does anyone remember a big glass fronted chippy close to Wigan Town Centre, near the bingo hall? It was owned by the Slater family who had kids named John, Jack and Rita?
