Hello, I am looking for some relatives who lived in Rochdale. William Henry (called Harry) Rowe, marrried to Nora White who had 2 children Russell Raymond Born 1946 and Maureen Born 1947. I am tracing the Rowe family tree and I know they lived somewhere in Rochdale and that Russell served in the Lancashire Fusiliers. Anyone information would be greatly recieved. Regards Angela

Going through the Wiganworld site brings back so many memories of a great Town, I left in 1973.
It is wonderful to see all the old pictures showing the character of old Wigan, (Market, Arcades,Lowes) and what a busy place it was

Hi Kathleen,I've looked at the photo you referred to,and though it is probably more than sixty years ago I do remember you, that is if you lived in Peel St,and have an older brother ,it does seem so long ago.

Message dedicated to Fred Foster re Parkside memories.
Peter Dooley is my Dad and Bill Holdsworth was my "Uncle Bill". Your portrayal of them in their younger years was accurate and kind. My Dad still is a "firebrand" but he is also sensitive and fair. Thankyou for such an accurate portrayal of my soft, soppy Dad!

I have lived in Wigan all my life and never regarded Tyldsley, Atherton or Leigh anything to do with our glorious town. They are all Charity Shop villages!
Only joking, I work with some Leythers and they can all read.
