Interested to find photo of premises of my grandfather's chemist shop as Taylors of Lower Ince on your website. My 89 year old father can just remember living there, is there anywhere I can find out further information on Ruric Watson, Chemist in the 1920s?

Hello everyone, well anyone who knows or remembers me from Whelley Secondary Modern School - one of the best!
I've just been having a look at the site for Whelley Sec. Mod. and noticed a few 'old-timers'there - male and female...hehehe.
Ken (Broxon), how are you these days. Good I hope. Do you remember what we used to say when everything was OK........'chiddypad!'
Now don't tell me you forgotten...already.
Also some of my friends in the same class. Where are you? I do confess, however, some have gone to pastures new.
If this gets through to the site, give me a call, if you wish.
Take care,
God Bless,
Malc Bannister.

My Grandfather was Robert George Wilson and the Head Postmaster in Wigan from about 1924-1932.
I am trying to locate any further information on him at that time.
He died in September 1932 at the age of 50.

ny assistance in my quest would be helpful.

Thank you in advance.

People would join but at the moment it's not allowing any new members, so them that aren't already members can only sign the guestbook and not post on the forums or communicate.

People wanting help with family tree stuff or just wanting to find friends etc should join the Communicate section. There are folk on there with census details who are always willing to help. Some are just nosey buggers but they will help.

Am looking for the LOWE family who lived at Gidlow House Wigan during WW1
Mother and father James and Katherine.
They had 7 children who were all alive in the 1911 census :- Lly, Arthur, George,Faulkner,Douglas, Harold and Veda,(known as Veedie.) James was a Draper in Wigan.
I would assume that there must be children of the children still about. Any information would be most welcome,

Hello Wigan,
My Great Grandfather, John Withington emigrated to Dorchester Massachusetts USA and then New Haven Connecticut USA in the late 1800’s. With the help of Pat Rutter the Withington Family Historian, managed to trace our lineage back to 1640 in Wigan. I have now become fascinated with Wigan and would love to hear from anyone who is a possible relation. I am also curious as to how Withingon Lane got its name. Could it be where my ancestors lived? I plan a visit very soon.

Bye for now.

I have funeral cards dating back until the 1890s with the Queens arms mentioned. My great grandparents with the surname Tabern supposedly owned this pub so I was researching to see if this was true.
