Comments: Hi - enjoyed your site. My Dad and his family (Marsdens) left Wigan to come to NZ in the 20's. I believe they lived in Poolstock Lane. I plan to visit Wigan in April. I can't wait. My Dad died in 1960 but I clearly remember things he said like telling me to "put wood'nt hole". Kia ora and thank you.

excellent site bringing back lots of memories o my old home town.my wife margaret (A SCOT) who lived in wigan for 30 years also has fond memories of the town, indeed probably knows more wiganers than me, she was supervisor in the BAKED POTATO on the old bus station for 15 years. Keep up the good work your page is like a breath of fresh air in these long winter evenings.

An excellent site, which has progressed tremendously over the last couple of months. It's great to read all the news and the Wigan speyk section is brilliant. Are you planning to cover more on sport and events happening in Wigan on the site soon?

Best wishes

I am researching my Chisnall/France family and my grX grandmother, Ann Chisnall was born in Hindley in 1828. I am wanting to know more about the community. I will bookmark this site for future reference. Any ideas where i can locate a good map of the region, including Hindley, on the web?

Warm regards from Portland, Oregon,
