I was very pleased to be able to 'view' Wigan and found it very interesting, as I have never visited. My gt. grandfather worked at Pepper Mill Foundry..supposed to have cast the tenor bell for Rheims Cathedral.
WELL DONE WIGAN at Murrayfield on Saturday, my son and daughter went and supported the team.

Brilliant site full of interesting information including family pics. Nice to see how they're going to spoil the next bit of our heritage with the Grand Arcade!
Both born and bred in Wigan and missing it already, brings back warm memories.

Nice site, however I must take issue with you about the photograph "Hindley - Looking up Market Street c 1930" It appears to me from the late 1950's or early 60's as there are no tramlines or overhead wires, the streetlights appear to be sodium types and the light coloured car appears to be a Ford Popular or Prefect introduced about 1959
