I was born and bred in shevy but have lived in north wales now for a long time. I have just been looking through the street view section and i cannot believe my eyes when i find that the second picture down in gathurst lane is just like looking through the window of the house that i grew up in.
GOOD MEMORIES........

Would like to know more about people who went to Gidlow school 1949. I lived at Gidlow Houses, Now live in Nova Scotia Canada.
I read about a guy I think I knew when I was a kid, his name is John Warwick (Tex). He knew Jimmy Cheetham from Gidlow Houses.

Great website, terrific photos though slightly embarrassed to see myself in the "Walking Day" Album. Still miss the old place after leaving the area in 1976 and of course we still have the greatest rugby league club in the world. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me from Ashton in Makerfield Grammar School 1969-76.

I'm amazed how many people in faraway places are nostalgic about Wigan , they don't know how lucky there are not to live here. I think this is a marvelous site, never the less.
