As a history student this site is fascinating. Can anyone help with info on Thomas B. Weedall, cotton mftr, Chapel Lane mills, 1869. He owned 12 houses in Leyland that I am investigating and I want to know why.

My mums uncle (Oliver Rigby) used to own the pit at Windy Harbour near pemberton (just by the M6 where thi winding wheel is now if anyone has any information about him and his family including Noel Rigby (his brother)it would be very much appreciated.

excellent viewing, lived in Wigan/Ashton for 15years before moving south went to cansfield in Ashton (someone had to) not a bad school though. I think it was through this web site that someone e-mailed me about wigan casino (as i'm doing some searching about it) unfortunately i lost the message, if you know who sent it coul you please reply again (sorry and thanks)
