I think wigan is stuck in the past.As for someone who is from lancashire.I never did like wigan.
Nothing is done about the traffic on the road.Plus what do they do built more shopping centre. So we get more cars on the road.
Getting a taxis can be hard a times. The bus service is poor.God help the old people. There a lights everywhere.Looks like london at times.

Good point: There a alot of good shops and clubs and pub. What they offer.
But my point is the wigan people do not mix well with outside people.

This stretch of Swinley Lane hasn't changed much since 1952. Any information about residents at that time would be much appreciated.

As a history student this site is fascinating. Can anyone help with info on Thomas B. Weedall, cotton mftr, Chapel Lane mills, 1869. He owned 12 houses in Leyland that I am investigating and I want to know why.
