Trying to get intouch with harry melling a wigan lad who i worked with in dubai u.a.e.his wife was south african they had two children and aged now late twentys early thirties,and the friends of olive abbott who lived seatoller place norley hall,olive and her friends were good to me when i was in wigan,i stayed at seatoller place when i was at blackburn f.c. in the early 70s,anyone who knows them please get in touch?

Wonderful site for reminising! I love the pics of the local streets and would appreciate it so much if anyone could help out with getting more and more added on. Pretty easy these days with digital cams too. I would like to see pics of Balls Cottages in Ince again. Great job with this site!

i am looking for anyone who worked at wigan telephone exchange from 1973 to 1980 on evenings

for gary fishwick.. havent seen scraggs for years,still see his sisters and brother patrick sometimes.pat brown died earlier this year and his mum died about five years ago.if i get anymore info i will pass it on. This site is great i never knew wigan was so interesting.

Does anyone know olive abbott of seatoller place , norley hall estate and Harry melling of wigan.I stayed in seatoller place in the early 70s when i was at blackburn rovers in my early 20s,Those days at the rugby club were very memorable with olives friends,i worked with harry in dubai he married a south african girl and had a boy & girl they will be in their late twentys now the children that is.

As an Ex Lancs person originating from the Bryn,A-in-M and Leigh areas. I just love to keep up with the info on both the Wiganword and the Leighlife websites.The sites have helped me to get in touch with quite a few old friends from the 1940's..GREAT..

im 50 and i attended Rose Bridge high school from 1966 - 1971. if anyone else went at this time, please get in contact or if you have any pictures.

Hi everyone, I'm originally from Worsley Hall Wigan, went to ST EDWARDS SCHOOL then on to ST THOMAS MORE, SCOT LANE. I moved to Australia in 1986. Can't thank you enough for all the hard work that you put into the website which is brilliant and helps us to keep in touch with whats going on in the "Old Country", even though it makes me homesick at times!! Would love to hear from anyone who went to St Thomas More between approx 1965/70 or who may have crossed paths with me somewhere along the line or in fact anyone in Sydney who would like reminisce about Wigan. Thank you once again keep up the good work.

Love the website. Great to keep in touch with the changes. Came to Oz in 1986. Last visit to UK in 1994 to see family. Seen many changes. Love to remind the Aussies that I come from the town that has THE BEST RL team in the world. They can't deny that even though the cherry & whites are going through a low period. The records speak the facts! Miss the friendliness of Wiganers but don't miss the winters. Would love to hear from anyone on the Gold Coast or Brisbane??

Am working at the centre, not a guest! been working here for 17yrs used to live in Swinley, think the site is fantastic, I go for virtual walks down Wigan Streets, found my first communion photos on your site, have read about things I forgot about. Keep up the good work, we are meeting lots of Wigan folk here for the tri nations will send photos and diary. Regards
