hi nuttytart/greyhound, don lived in the row further on past pimblets farm towards bolton rd his daughters name was anne who became a more than usefull hockey player she has one son daniel & a daughter emmily they live in the strand a-i-m.

dons wife is well known in the local womens bowling league[think she bowls for rec club]

Thanks for the reply Greyhound. I thought I was on the wrong person at first, until you mentioned Stanley...that surname?...I'm assuming it's his wifes maiden name? Seems to ring a bell with me.
I think I used to go to school with his (Dons) daughter...but I'm sure it was Bryn road South they lived, in the 60s?????

I found this site really useful when I had to do a project on Wigan. It has loads of information, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to find out about Wigan.

Trollyman, The 47-48 football team i know most of them but cant put a name to them all, i reconise Roy Pennington (teacher) & Jimmy Johnson holding the ball, Regarding the grasmere photo the teachers are , T Arnold , F Hartley, Anderton, & Latham, i know a few of the lads but they were juniors, i was on the same camp but alas not on the photo, H ope this helps,
