peter it wont make any difference if you defer
your pension for any benefit including carers
allowance its calculated as if your receiving your pension ( because you will eventually )
although you do do recieve a premiun towards housing benefit / council tax hope this helps

It has a find people service. General enquiries show that the name Eileen Ainscough is listed in the Wigan area 5 times over the last few years.

A long shot but I'm wondering if anyone knows a woman called Eileen Ainscough, I think she is living in Platt bridge at the moment near St Nathaniels. She used to live in Mannion house in Scholes! A friend of the family whom we have lost touch with but we still get Christmas cards but have no information for her. Thanks

Hi. My grandfather was born in 1897 in Wigan. His name was Harry Hilton and his father was Thomas Hilton. I believe the year they immigrated to the US was 1901. Several brothers and sisters remained in Wigan. We are planning a trip to England in 2021 and will be visiting Wigan. Looking for the possibility of cousins in Wigan. Thanks much. Happy holidays.

I don’t know if anyone can help me I’m looking for my biological Dad . The problem is he doesn’t know I exist. He is called Derek Bennison and was living in Reddish Stockport when I was born in 1967.At the time he was working as a Telephone Engineer and did some work as a Bingo caller in the evening. He had two sisters.He was approximately 22 when I was born. He was about 5ft 7 and has brown eyes . He sometimes used an alias Derek Ferris. My mother’s name was Kathleen x I hope someone can help even with the smallest bit of information xx

Thanks for this great sight. My Granddad and his family were from Wigan. His Father, Charles Edwin George was a Bobby for many years there.

I lived in Orrell Road up to 1945 and cannot recollect Atherton House. Would guess it must have been on thrvMount somewhere.

winnie.. can you find any info on Atherton house on orrell rd, ive been looking for a while but any info is very limited, i think it was built for a pit owner in 1755 ?
