Been away from wigan now for 20yrs but still miss the place,especially football days with ince parish and wigan town (bees knees)OH and the great p... ups.Hello to all who know me.

My mum is Julie Varey (now Winstanley) and my dad is Carl Winstanley. Does anybody remember them?

Wonderful site with interesting people and places photos. My family originated in Wigan and I am currently looking for Paul John Clough b1959 son of Eileen Holland and John Clough. Grandson of Cyril Greenwood Holland. I remember visiting Hindley Green area as a child and assume that's the area the family lived. Eileen was my Mother's (Audrey Holland)cousin. If anyone has any memories of the family I would be delighted to hear about them as all contact was lost after my Mother died in 1988.

So sad 2 hear bulldog tools being closed.I worked there for 25 yrs in the forge prong rolling hard work but had some good times.

You said you were born in Bird St Ince...well my Dad was born in Keeble Street Ince and my Mum was born in Junction Terrace.....Lower Ince....
This is a great place to be when I am so far away....I love Australia but my ties to Wigan are very strong....cheers!!!

Albert Parr,hi Albert spoke to my brother-in-law recently he said he had a drink in Hindley Labour club a few weeks ago with your old school mate Ronnie Rudd,I asked him to mention you next time, also Albert I do remember another old mate of yours Harry Walder if I remember correctly he was I think the son of Harry Walder the Wigan artist do you remember anything about this? Well. I am at a full stop re three generations ago and wanted to join the forum to ask for help.. but alas! I cannot afford a web mail apart from free yahoo which they forbid outright.. such a shame as I am old not and a pensioner and poor thus. This is not the Wigan I grew up in if they can be so inhospitable! I am genuine and grew up in Ince. Now I am almost sure that my great grands were Irish and cannot get the help to find them. Please, think again; all the sites who help need money and that is not possible,.LOVE your site.. God bless the ones who did the cemetery listings; they have been a great help. But just need a little more info!
