Not born in Wigan but my father was. Taken there in 1947 left for New Zealand in 1958. Although born in France England still feels like home and has the biggest pull for me. Went to Poolstock school and my headmaster was Mr Horrocks. Caught a pike once in the canal across the road and kept it in a bath in the back yard. Walked in the walking days.

Brought up in (Norley Hall)1950sssss Worked at Post Office 1967-72. Rember Brian Thurston when i worked for CWS 1965,(THE TOP ROOM CO-OP WHELLY remember that old organ). Anyone who remembers me please get in touch
