a few weeks ago you could get into wigan via poolstock lane/poolstock, no problem. can anybody prove the sense in putting that road up, over the canal and then down again? it is totally pointless and is creating traffic congestion. these planners we've got are wasting money on stupid projects that are not needed. in the future no-one will want to come to wigan and it will become a ghosttown. the sooner things are changed the better.

One finds the common people of Wigan so very underdeveloped in their manners and speech. One is sometimes ashamed to be associated with the District. When one looks down ones nose, one finds the town dirty, smelly and not to ones liking.

I found your comment to me very entertaining. One would think that an intelligent opinion would be based on personal expericence. Am I to assume that you have been to Wigan yourself? I find this very unlikely. I, however have been to New Jersey and based on that experience it makes your comment all the more amusing. Wigan is filled with loving and friendly people always willing to help you. New Jersey, well dare I say "Hell Hole"? is filled with people out to get what they want no matter what the cost or who they hurt. since moving away 7 years ago i still have great memories of my home town the old pubs,shops etc, the way we talk ,it can't be beat "whats fort do" class.............
