great site .helps to get in contact with old pals .like seening old photograghs of wigan in the past ..keep up the good work

I have just spent the last couple of hours browsing through your site. All i can say is that it is excellent, brought back a good few memories of how wigan was thanks so much keep it up i love it. A+

Great site. I use it all the time to show my friends here in NZ what Wigan is like. In July/August 2005 I went back to Wigan for the first time since 1974 (I left for NZ as a 6 year old with my family). I loved it and couldn't believe how much of Wigan I recognized. As a very proud ex-Wiganer I'm flying the flag over here in the antipodes.

is there anyone out there who as any information regarding landgate colliery which was situated at parklane bryn & closed in 1959?
would be most interested to know of any ex employees or relatives of same,i was employed there from 1949 to 1959 when i was transfered to golborne colliery

Does anyone know of a Graham Critchley who lived at Smiths shop at Wigan Rd Bryn in the late 40s.

Anyone remember shevy high school 1970-74, and the famous Billy Boston with wigan rugby met his daughter Lisa at the Wigan casino allnighter hellow to all the ex workers of Horwich loco 1974-1978.

I came across this site by accident was looking for info on billinge hospital as thats where i was born only lived in Wigan for a short time but both my parents were born and raised there, I think this is an awesome site really glad I found it Keep up the excellent work

i am a welsh man who finds out i have links with hindley after finding documents after my mother died,they according to 1901 cencus lived on wigan road but there is no sighn of it on any maps,could any one tell me where it is?? site heaven to me

Does anyone remember Tom Whalley walking his puma around Wigan on a lead?
He used to keep it in a cage in his shop I wonder what happend to the puma?
