Hello Golden Bear, I am very sorry to read the sad story of your beloved Sister, she sounded like a lovely person and you sound like the perfect brother .. very much like my own who I lost in ‘96 but it seems just like yesterday.. I miss him everyday and that will never change. I honestly think we’re blessed to have had a childhood with some so special. Please give my love to your Mum Dad and Bro ….she will be watching over you all.xxx
God bless you.

GB: A sad, but superb, post. You left no-one out, a whole family and history, which is what we are all about. There was a lot of love in that post and that is strength. I wish you all the best for the rest of this life.

Really sorry for your loss Goldenbear. My hubby, John Baxter would have been 69 August 2022 and as a young lad worked briefly at Slipperworks so he may well have known Ann. I am very sorry for all you have been through yourself. That can get lost amongst the loss of your much loved sister. John died just 64 in 2019 from bowel cancer. He was dying when I had to tell him I had breast cancer. Weeks later we lost our 3 yr old grandson (he shares his coffin with John). After that 4 close friends of many years died and finally my Uncle (6 deaths plus my cancer within 9 months of 2019. Last year our eldest grandson, 19 also died. Going through a big cancer operation alone was very hard, so though I didn't have the number of operations you had, I did go through gruelling radiotherapy etc. I refused treatement as John needed me, then bereft, so it had spread to my lymphs so ended up with incurable nerve pain, so I have an vague idea what you have been through/going through. I send you hugs and my very best regards. Val aka Dolly

I lived next door to Anne and Mick, for about 6 or 7 years. She was a nice person, and I'm very sorry to hear this news.

Apologies GB but I have only just read about your sad loss .Please accept my most sincere condolences.
The similarities to your sisters life history are remarkable to that of my late wife although a little older she in turn did not make her 74th birthday. Attended All Saints school, worked at the slipper works and did some Christmas work at Gus. I lost her soon after she had received the 5 year all clear from cancer only to pass away some few weeks later. The suddeness was and is hard to come to terms with but we did have 55yrs together. All my best wishes.
