I think Gaffer posted something about this, the EU countries are turning to the far right, because they are sick of the all the immigrants, and they have it worse than us.

It is not limited to the EU.

Repressive regimes are in the ascendant and open societies are under siege.

The proportion of the planet's population living in democracies peaked a long time ago. All eyes upon USA, 2024 to see if this decline turns into an avalanche.

Appears that the people of other European countries are beginning to turn to the Right Parties as a result of realising that the Centre and Left Parties have done nothing about how the mass invasion of immigrants from Africa, Middle East and Asia is affecting their countries way of life, economies and what it is costing to keep them.

Time that people in our country also woke up to the reality of the situation!

My comment if you had read it correctly was about what is happening in other European countries and not the last thirteen years in our country.

The riots in Ireland yesterday were supposed to have been against foreigners but it was just an excuse for thugs to ransack shops!

What other government in Europe has been in power for exactly thirteen years apart from the Tories in our country for you to claim that you did not mention any place or country.

Your comment had nothing to do with the topic about what has happen in the Netherlands!

i wonder if there is any truth in a new study!!!!
‘Smarter’ people were more likely to have voted to remain in the European Union, a new study has claimed.

Research from the University of Bath’s School of Management found that cognitive skills including memory, verbal fluency, fluid reasoning and numerical reasoning, were correlated with how people decided to vote.

The research used a nationally representative sample of 6,366 individuals from 3,183 couples collected as part of a large survey called Understanding Society.

Why is it that right wing populists always want to close the door on your freedom of movement , education, information

Hitler Stalin and Mussolini you could also say Boris tried by discouraging higher education and trying to get rid of the BBC for a more private owned and run media like GB news were you can control the information
Like trump said i like stupid people.....

I wonder how they decided which people to study ?

Maybe they used the same system the BBC uses, when they choose a representative audience for Question Time

I spoke to a lot of Wigan people during the long four month referendum debate, folk from every political persuasion, income bracket, every walk of life in Wigan, so I have a pretty good idea about why folk in Wigan voted to leave the EU, and why some folk wanted to stay in the EU

But there are a lot of studies finding the same.

Also finding age and level of education very indicative.

They suggest the intervening variable is resistance to misinformation.

We would have learned a lot more about this, had Boris not quashed the Security service request to investigate.

The report they submitted is redacted, so we will not learn what they said. However, the footnotes contained in the report were not redacted, so with a little effort, we can discover the sources of information upon which the report drew.

Fararge has done more damage to this country than every successive government since Ramsey McDonald, plus the covid epidemic and Hitler all rolled into one.

OK then, if we had not left the EU, there had not been a referendum, David Cameron had been in power until 2021 or even 2022, because the 'fixed term parliaments act' would still have been in force, but the general election of May 2020 would have had to have been postponed, because at that time, in the period leading up to that election, that was at the height of the pandemic, and the country was in lockdown.

So how would that timeline have made things 'better' in this country, than is the case 'now' ?

I don’t know, my crystal ball is in for service

Curious though…..what makes you think we can draw conclusions based on events that haven’t happened ?

It is yoo, who is looking into a crystal ball in the first place, and drawing conclusions to events which have not or did not happen

No…. I made an off the cuff remark based on my own personal opinion.

Hitler, covid and the McDonald government were all very real, no crystal ball is required to confirm this as fact.
