Chugging in need....why don't they give a small proportion of their profits of ripping people off for their TV licence fees to this charity instead of hogging the TV on a Friday night to the detriment of all other charities. Don't forget..Linneker is on 4 million a year.."Tosser".

For the benefit of the people that dont know, billingebiker has not got a tv licence.
By his own admission ( on here ) he refused to pay his tv licence fee due to a gripe with the BBC.

So, I don't know what he is moaning about as it will not affect his viewing?
I do agree with him though that the money raised could be split with other people in need

"It could be in his wife's name licence is for the property"

Silly reply, but, it's quite possible?
But it doesn't alter the fact that he is watching it for free? So surely, if its free, he can't complain about the entertainment? If your not happy, just switch channels. I certainly would

Well to balance the books, I pay the BBC licence but, watch little TV and I no longer listen Radio 2 cause its gone crap, I might one day stop paying because So many do and justify it and, I'm informed by my learned friend that, No one has ever been successfully persecuted for NOT paying,

Children in need has raised over £1billion since it start and this year alone £35.5 million . Wigan received £440.000 over 5 years ago according to 1st Mates link. I have said for years Charity is a BIG business and a lot of people are sat on a fortune and living the live of riley through so called charities.

Setting up a charity or foundation can be a good number judging by what happened in the case of Captain Tom!

After his death, the foundation that was formed, asked for and granted planning permission to build a small memorial museum in the grounds of the family property which when completed turned out to be a swimming poll and sauna for use by the family who started the charity

A right pair or rogues were his daughter and son-in-law who set up the foundation.

The high profile and hugely successful charities that raise tens of millions for various causes are run and managed by some extremely competent individuals and their business and management skills and abilities don't come cheap. Without these people the charities concerned would amount to very little.

If you want to make good money you have to pay good money

I think that a lot or the charities are as bad as the scammers, who gets the money to run them and how mutch.

I know that Children in Need is a good cause, and I am not criticising the cause, but as regards the show last night, I watched it, and it was 'awful' it was 'bland' and 'boring' and 'woke' and full of 'diversity', so what is wrong with that you might ask ?

I don't know, it just got up my nose

I'm sure there will have been more given to other children's charities in Wigan over the years Peterp. When you consider the amount of towns in the uk with children's charities looking for donations 35 million isn't a lot, though most welcome

Not only as you have said, but now with a audience screaming and shouting at sod all which seems to be the norm these days.

Ten minues or so was enough for us, so we swtiched to a rcording of a film we had recorded.

My wife's profession is a fundraiser any questions anyone??
she has one worker in the uk who she pays a salary of 45000 and one in the USA who gets double My wife also has 2 assistants in Israel
the last two years my wife alone has raised 50 million dollars.....
The truth is the people who get paid the most money are the ones who can "open doors " Example... you belong to a very rich family's, or Hold or held a powerful public position ETC.... these people don't come cheap it all about the circles these people hang in and who they know .... In the end its a business like it or not it's all about making as much money as possibility for who ever your representing....

I don't think that retired top armed forces/police officers are hardly the right kind of individuals who have the neccessary commercial business and financial skills to be at the head of a charity.

Just another example of those in high places on retirement getting a nice little earner on top of their lucrative pensions!

Trussell Trust in bother for diverting £18.3 million away from what it was intended .
RSPCA spend nearly a fifth of donations over £22 million on adverts
NLBI send £3.1 million abroad
I used to donate to Christies Hospital till I found out they had £6million stashed in an Icelandic bank.
How much money is diverted away from what it was intended

The BBC has asked me to point out that it is totally misleading to suggest that the company is obsessed with big names. You can hear more about this if you tune in to tonight's programme broadcast from our Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch studio.
