Amapola (Poppy}

This song by Spanish composed by Joseph Lacalle in 1923, and sung by many artists,
including Andrea Bocelli, was also in the film Once upon a time in America ,version by Ennio Morricone.
Its a beautiful piece of music, and a version by Helen O'Connell and Bob Eberly in 1941 , was remembered by American soldiers in World War II and sung with irony as they fought in France and saw the poppies of Flanders Fields.

Quando is the Italian spelling of the word and the one used for the song. I can sing it in Italian.

Speaking of Italian,ever since I can remember I've loved Italian language..the last two years of my Mams life I was her carer..every day three times a day..any road up I'd been to the Library and got a tape titled " How to speak in Italian " ...this was before I got on the net..I told my Mam,she said " Oh you don't need that,you just put an 'O' on the end of everything and there you have it." and she meant it.
