It is getting silly now, and most of them are economic migrants, young single men, and they should be transported to Africa, and put in a camp, not a prison, if they want to bugger off, then so be it, but it is a long walk to wherever they decide to go, families should be treated with more leniency, but at the end of the asylum seeking process, they should be offered a flight home, or a flight to Africa, but make it clear that they cannot stop in the UK.
I don't like saying it, but asylum seekers should be kept locked up, so that they don't disappear into the black economy.

HI Basil Brush, I thought that those illegals should have been sent back and then if they choose make an appeal .. NOT stop over here whilst that appeal is dealt with.. JUST what the bloomin hell is France doing ??? YOU ARE NOT TELLING ME THEY CANNOT SEE ALL THESE ON THE BEACHES READY TO COME OVER HERE !!! I posted the other day that they will not turn the dingy away even though they've been told to.

And when it comes to rescuing those people attempting to cross the Channel, we do not question why they got into trouble, who they are or where they come from. All we need to know is that they need our help.

Last week the border force stayed in port (Dover) because of choppy conditions in the Channel, but the RNLI carried on going out.

Bloody French

Not that I'm a lover of the French, but .........

........why should France have responsibility over controlling potential UK immigrants? They're not their concern.
What 'should' happen is as follows - the boats intercepting them, mid channel, should take them straight back where they came from.
The UK should stop bringing them the rest of the way, feeding them, giving them help, housing them, etc..

Like I've said before, it's harder for me to get back into my own country, from Spain, than it is for a bloke from Africa to get to here illegally!

And, again like I've said before, what the UK government is doing, at the moment, re: Hong Kong people, is an absolute piss-take. They are being brought over here with nothing, free transport, housed, given settlement grants of many thousands of pounds, plus all available benefits. Do they have to attend a job-centre to sign on?
No. Not for them.
All this "points system" and "skilled people" is bullshit. They come with nothing. No job, no qualifications, no skills, and are given money which a lot of UK nationals could only ever dream about having.

Why is this happening?
