A Wigan expat ponders life’s little mysteries on his 69th birthday

My eyes are getting fuzzy,
My back is getting sore,
My hearing’s down the gurgler,
My memory’s out the door.

Put me in a rocking chair
To watch the days go by,
With bibs to catch the dribbles,
And pads to keep me dry.

Feed me chips and meat pies(
I cannot have enough)
Sloppy peas and Mint Balls,
And other Wigan stuff!

I think I’ll see the doctor,
I need a magic pill,
To stop me sliding further
Down the geriatric hill.

Thanks for a great website.
