I was born in 1948. Never known my father other than his name. Wondering if this guy might be him???. I was born in Walsall, Wellington and lived in West Bromwich as a child. Wondering if anything else is known about him, dead or alive, when he was demobbed after war and where to? back to Germany maybe? Wondering how to find out?

Found a photo on your site and saw long lost friend, Sue Melling, in it. It was the 1964 Evening Post photo of Wigan Girls H.S. Hockey team. If you know Sue (I do not know her married surname), I would appreciate your help. Thank you

I want to thank Wiganworld very much for a fantastic site. I have been able to find my 96 year old Mum's family and friends in Hindley/Ince Cemetery. This means such a lot to her and to me as she was born in Hindley and I was born in Abram. Thank you.

Brilliant site so interesting and informative. Just wondered if there is anyone looking at this site from Shropshire I am doing the family tree for my granddaughter and am trying to find my wife's side of the family. Her great grandfather was an Alfred Nibbs born about 1845 in Holt Wiltshire he married a Nancy Carter Pownall and they had 3 children (Martha Ann Nibbs (who is my wife's paternal Grandmother who was born about 1879) Elizabeth Emma and Thomas Nibbs In the 1891 census Martha Ann Nibbs lived at 54 Lincoln Street, Winton Eccles, Lancashire and in 1881 at number 3 house, 25 Court Grafton Street, Toxteth Park, Liverpool. Obviously at some point the Nibbs moved to Lancashire from Wiltshire. I believe that Alfred Henry Nibb's father was a William Nibbs. In the census of 1901 the Nibbs family lived at 17 Ince Green Lane and Alfred Nibbs was a platelayer on the railway.

Grandmas I have thought about everything and I wondered if out there are any LEATHERBARROWS who just may have a photograph in their possession or a photo of any siblings, I did not know of Williams existence until 1963 as my grandmother remarried. Any help I can tell you will be really appreciated.

Thank you do much grandmas for info on William Egerton Lestherbarrow some of which was a a bit of a surprise. I understood my grandmother Alice Leatherbarrow served in France during WW1 WO 398/134/19, so I now have to find out who looked after my dad Gordon and whether Willism served in France

In 1911 William Egerton Leatherbarrow has one son Gordon Egerton Leatherbarrow
They had:
Gordon born 1910
James born 1912
Catherine born 1915 (so this must be the Kathleen who died aged 2 years in 1917) sorry put 1912 in my first post.
