Great site. I was born in Wigan and lived in Pool Street, Poolstock, Goose Green and Worsely Meshes. Went to St Joseph's primary and have been exiled since 1987. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me especially members of the Bolton or Barlow families.

Great site: After yrs of searching I think I have found the grave of my Grandfathers brother, William Cuthbert Roper Wigan Cemetery C357. I wonder if there is a head stone with inscriptions. My Grandfather Thoma Roper was the only family member that seems to have come to Australia. Other family members that lived in Wigan [191 census} are Maraget Roper, Joseph Roper and Edgar Roper} I am still looking for information Thnask Clive roper

Many thanks for that Philomena. Although speaking for myself, I am not European,I am not British, I am proud to be English and will remain so even if we stay in the EU, even though My dogs are called Cariad and Dafydd. In honour of my Welsh heritage, cos I'm half Wigan half Welsh!

Maybe I'm not really English after all when I think about it, but it hurts when I do think.
