Further to my September postings regarding the intelect of the local populus, you only need to read through the latest attempts at postings to come to the conclusion that the children in the town of Wigan are not receiving even a basic education. Try to make sense of the message from Lauren ( 9/10 ) and you will realise that action needs to be taken. Illiteracy is not acceptable in todays society. I have nothing further to say on the subject.

Please, Please, Please stop telling everyone that I once lived in Wigan, it's awfully embarassing and they all poke fun at me up here you know ! And I turn over in my grave whenever I hear anyone say 'It's Turned Out Nice' ! Anyway, I was thinking of haunting Wigan Little Theatre for a laugh but I think I'll haunt the council chambers instead because I'll fit in there, being dead an' all that.

I have relatives near to Wigan. I love looking into history and find modern history very educational. However, I must say that the Wigan people who continue to try writing in a Lancashire accent and talking about pies all the time are only fuelling the ideas of the media who still refer to Wigan people as ' Backward Villagers '. Why, on my last visit to Wigan I followed a car with a sticker in the back window proclaiming that it's occupants, being Wiganers, actually lived in Mud Huts ! I ask you, is this a way to promote the area in which you live ? I also passed the grotesque, monstrosity of ' modern art ' which has been erected on the approach roundabout off the M6. On questioning my uncle on this he informed me that it represents the ' Spirit of Wigan '! My God ! That will give the visiting football fans something to smile about, no doubt.
