Searching for Johnny Parr omega trio and found relevant pictures
Comments
We have been searching for information regarding my grandfather, Johnny Parr of the omega trio and came across a picture of another troupe member. The comment below was from John Parr, his son, and would like to try to contact him. The email on the comment is no longer in use so we have hit a bit of a dead end. I'm not entirely sure if he was aware he has siblings so understandably this may be a sensitive topic but my Mum has been looking for a very long time for him. Any information anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.

In 1911 PC George was living at 387 Wigan Road, Bryn.
Born in 1870 in St.Mawgan. His wife Margaret was born nearby in Rainford in 1875.
Three sons, all born in Ashton, Edward Jesse, James Joseph and Charles Edwin.
His brother, William Henry born 1873, was also living with them.
He was still living locally when he died at the age of 71 in 1941.

I am trying to trace the family on my Grandmothers side, her father was William Ashcroft of Upholland born in 1871 and he married Margaret. Their children were John, Nellie(my Grandma), Annie, Agnes, William and Maggie. My great Grandad and his son John worked in the mines then they moved to Salford for work when the pit closed. We used to visit our family on Mondays in Orrell in the 50's and 60's and I would love to find them. Also Chisnall and Speakman are part of our family.

I’m curious about what happened to our old flat in Wigan. The address was “The Flat, 96 Greenough Street”, but I have a suspicion we had a back door (up steps) as our main entrance, as I remember vividly that we parked our mini van in the dead end road outside our 'front' door. (Incidentally there was a legend that this was the very house George Formby was born in, but there's no blue plaque or anything...!) Is there anyone out there who knows about all this?

Message for Basil Brush.
Hi, Basil. I will be in the UK this weekend staying in Orrell with friends. Is the offer of you or your sons buying the drinks still on? I will be in the Mount from Friday to Monday from 19.30 to around 21.00. if the answer is yes. we will be stood on the left hand side of the bar. Let me know when you will be in. Am sure we could return the compliment.

searching for Wigan RC cemetery records

Hello. Recently got back to researching my HIGHAM ancestors from Wigan, and a bit obsessed with finding Wigan records and local history stuff at the moment. My gr.gr.grandad John Higham moved to Blackburn about late 1860s. He and most of his Wigan relatives worked in the foundries as brass moulders, iron moulders, etc. His mum and dad Henry and Ann (nee Hallam) were married at St Johns RC chapel in 1848. They lived on "School Common". What a great site you have here, I will definitely be back.

Kelly. Yes the house on Ince Green Lane is still standing, it's next to the now empty Manley Hotel. That part of Cambridge Street is no longer there.

I am researching my family from Wigan... my g-grandmother Annie Jukes lived with her family at 232 Ince Green Lane in 1881 ---- wondering if the house is still there. Also had family from my g-grandfathers side that lived at 56 Cambridge St .... if that building still exists as well.
