I am still trying to find out about my grandfather David rigby he was registered as living at 22 spring gardens wigan when he was born in 1897.His father`s name was Thomas Rigby ,his mother`s name was Mary Jane Rigby (formerly Lester) Thomas Rigby lived at this address when David was born.
My mum told me that David had 2 brothers and 2 sisters named Albert, Amelia,Helen and Jack ,i have not been able to find any info about any of them .
I do know my grandfather David was living in 27 Broom road Southport when he was 13
with someone called Richard Rigby ,other than that i have no other information about him any help would be greatly appreciated

I apologies for my last post about the Wigan Rejects using the death of a member of Wigan World for having a dig at the Admin. I know know this isn't the case and untrue, I'm very sorry for any upset caused by my post.

I am trying to locate my grandfathers family he was Alfred marsh had a brother Frederick and sisters Lillie and sarah his mother was louisa marsh I think all details correct

My great grandmother was Ellen Smith.....she married George Armstrong. They lived at 255 Wigan Road.

Has anyone got info or pictures that I can copy.

I am trying to locate a picture of the Wigan Police Station on Warrington Rd Circa 1881.
My Great Grandfather was a Constable and he and his family lived there.

We have been searching for information regarding my grandfather, Johnny Parr of the omega trio and came across a picture of another troupe member. The comment below was from John Parr, his son, and would like to try to contact him. The email on the comment is no longer in use so we have hit a bit of a dead end. I'm not entirely sure if he was aware he has siblings so understandably this may be a sensitive topic but my Mum has been looking for a very long time for him. Any information anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.

In 1911 PC George was living at 387 Wigan Road, Bryn.
Born in 1870 in St.Mawgan. His wife Margaret was born nearby in Rainford in 1875.
Three sons, all born in Ashton, Edward Jesse, James Joseph and Charles Edwin.
His brother, William Henry born 1873, was also living with them.
He was still living locally when he died at the age of 71 in 1941.

My Great Grandfather was a PC in Wigan and a few other places. His name was Charles Edwin George and he was originally from Cornwall.

I am trying to trace the family on my Grandmothers side, her father was William Ashcroft of Upholland born in 1871 and he married Margaret. Their children were John, Nellie(my Grandma), Annie, Agnes, William and Maggie. My great Grandad and his son John worked in the mines then they moved to Salford for work when the pit closed. We used to visit our family on Mondays in Orrell in the 50's and 60's and I would love to find them. Also Chisnall and Speakman are part of our family.
