Delving in here is the best and worst thing I've ever done - talk about a 'time-thief'! it can keep me occupied for hours - love it.

Hi
1. Has anyone experience in finding genealogical information from the Old Wigan Workhouse? Any tips would be very welcome.

2. The cemetery index is not yet complete on Wigan World, does anyone know when it will be? I'm awaiting details for 1907>

Best wishes

Norman.

I enjoyed my visit to this site. I have been looking at Genealogy blog sites and stumbled on yours via a link. This is very intersting and you seem to have a great bunch of people contributing. I also run a genealogy site
http://www.stannington.webitsmart.co.uk/
a rich source of information relating to Sheffield, England and the first world war.

Well Done

ANDY from Higher Ince,
just looking through the the guest book and noticed you were asking if anyone remembers "National Blue Coat School"
Well I certainly do, I attended the school round about 1948 - 1950, I remember wearing a blue cotton overall.
I have only just found out about wiganworld and spent all night just browsing, It's great.

Anthony Mason thank's for the youtube contribution, very interesting and cleverly done. I have started doing something similar around Shevington/Crooke, I take photos in the same spot as ones I've seen in the local history books, it's amazinging comparing the difference, if only of the people in them. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK and share some more.
