A few years ago I came into possession of a painting entitle “The Holy City”.
It was presented to the Right Hon Mary L Lady Gerard, Garswood Hall, Lancashire.
Is Garswood Hall still standing – or has it now become a mining museum.
Your web site was an initial point for this contact. Any help/information would be appreciated.

A truly wonderful site! I grew up in Wigan and went to the Convent in Standishgate. Found some interesting photographs of my old school on the site. Also learned a lot about my ancestors from the cemetery index. I also loved the poems in dialect. Usually look at the site a couple of times a week now. Keep up the good work!

A great site. It brings back some great memories and the photos are stunning. Hindley & Abram Grammar School photos in particular bring on the old nostalgia every time.

This has to be the best site for Wiganers ever. I have met so many old friends and neighbours after many, many years through Wigan World, it is amazing and gratifying. Thank you all at WW.

Great site! Loving the content and the work that has gone into it (being a web designer myself). Good job. If anyone is interested you can check out my website (www.thegetoutguide.com) and let me know what you think or if your looking for local gigs/events in and around Wigan (we also sell tickets). Many thanks.
