I wasnt sure about switching over to digital control myself Jarvo but i am glad that i did even with the limited time i have had in running trains. A couple of things though,
Pretty well any loco can have a dcc chip fitted although some are more difficult than others mainly due to space constraints.
Some of the Bachmanns and the old Mainline range that have split chassis are more fiddly to do.
The old Hornby Dublo / Wrenn locos tend to be rather heavy on current draw so suitable chip selection is pretty important.
Dont believe the blurb that it only needs two wires!
The capabilities seem to be almost limitless ( governed by available funds)
A guy i visited here is well into sound as well, he brought a two diesel passenger train into a terminus with all the carriages lit up. The next thing i hear is the seperate diesel engines shutdown , door slams shut footsteps move along the train turning lights off and slamming doors shut as they go, absolutely amazing but so expensive to achieve.
Go dcc mate!
