I too went to Gidlow Girls' School and initially our houses were also Raleigh, Nelson, Gordon and Scott. I was in Gordon House and our badges were green. Raleigh was yellow, Nelson was blue and Scott was red.

However, before I left, it was decided that there would be just three houses, named after predominant women and they were Kathleen Ferrier (Classical Singer), Helen Keller (Blind & Deaf Author and Activist) and Marie Curie (Physicist & Chemist). I was in Marie Curie House and our badge was turquoise, Ferrier was purple, and I think Keller was yellow.
