Thanks, Winnie, I had no luck either. The reason for the query is that I have written up his war story from his discharge papers and regimental history. His battalion was involved in heavy fighting at the battle of Messines, early June, 1917. It looks probable he was wounded there, but I did not want to jump to conclusions. I will put a proviso in the text.
