Hi to everyone who contributed to this messageboard and my thanks to you all.
I've only recently found out that I spent my early years (From age 2 to 4) at Greenfield in the early fifties. Your comments have given me a feel for the place. Some of the criticisms make me feel perhaps fortunate that, being so young during my stay, my memories are a bit limited. My name during my residency at the orphanage was Hans Dagphinn Christianssen and I was fostered out at age 4 to a lovely Wigan family.
I visited the orphanage yesterday (Nugent House) with my wife and instantly recognised the large gates and wall which seemed even larger when I was a child.
I wonder if two of my older half sisters, Maureen and Jean Davidson also stayed at this orphanage. We were all abandoned,in Liverpool, by our mother. Anyway thanks to you all for filling in a few blanks in my past and best wishes to you all.
