My grandmother's sister was Dinah Aspden who married Stephen Stow in Barrowford in 1903. They then moved to Hindley when Stephen and his brother acquired two cotton mills - one in Barrowford and one in Wigan. They had four daughters, Mary, Sylvia, Grace and Blanche who all married in Wigan in the 1920-30's. Mary married Richard Hooper a sanitary engineer, Sylvia married James Middleton a police constable, Blanche married a James Barratt a motor wagon driver, and Grace married Hugh Stott a house painter and decorater. Does anyone know/remember them or their children?
