Hi again,

I don't know whether this helps, my boyfriend is visiting the National Coal Museum in Wakefield today through work (he works for Yorkshire Water so I've no idea why he's visiting a coal museum!)

Anyway, I was just having a browse around their website: http://www.ncm.org.uk/library.asp
and according to them, archived material for each coal mine and the people who worked there (if it survives) is deposited in the local records office.

I don't know whether this will be of any help to you, its just something I found: http://www.cmhrc.co.uk/

Good luck and keep us updated with what you find!

Helen.
