A friend of mine (for a short time) was an apprentice electrician at Golborne Colliery back in 1976.
One day, he went home early from North Road College, as he didn't feel too well. He was making his way home to Lowton, on his Honda 125, along the East Lancs Road, when he hit a stationary HGV truck which was parked on the road, broken down, right near Old Boston and was killed instantly.
His name was Michael Ashall. Does any of you remember him, or the incident?
