I remember Frank Vose well, peter g, from my days at St Benedict's. Great headmaster, although he could let rip with his cane! Back in 1961 we were all playing rugby in the boys' playground and I told my mates to 'Put the posts up' while I dropped a goal. I did, but the ball went sailing through Frank Vose's office window. He rushed outside, caned the lot of us on the spot and sent a letter home to all our parents asking for sixpence from each family to pay for the broken window. As I say, a great headmaster!
