I never knew that about Darrell Banks. Mind you I don't know much about a lot of the N. Soul performers.
I listened that Al Kent instrumental - You got to pay the Price. I have a vocal version of it somewhere on a single by...mmm, I think her name's Gloria Taylor. It was amongst a huge box of singles I came across in a Newquay post office. I bought 18 of them ( records , not post offices) and had no spending money left for most of the weeks holiday in July '75.... what else eas amongst them?... I think Real Humdinger on red ric-tic(?) and ''The Cheater '' by ..can't remember.
