Whups

You are indeed correct in saying that the Tories sold off our railway industry to the private sector, but since the decision, Labour have been in power during which time never reversed the decision and from what I understand have no plans to do so again if they win the next general election!

So it looks if private sector which includes investment by the French and German State Railways is here to stay, be it by the present franchise system or new individual companies floated on the stock exchange.

Either way, it appears that as far as both the two main political parties are concerned, public ownership of our railways is now a dead duck!
