Aslef agreed a pay deal with the train companies months ago. The sticking point is about changing some working practises such as making Sunday a working day. Unfortunately the management side committed the cardinal sun of negotiation.They agreed in principle to changes but when the confirmation of those changes was put in writing they were totally different. A mistake the old BR management would never have made.
