Earlier on this year my phone contract was up, and I was looking around at what there was to replace it, and I looked at 'everything' from contract and pay as yoo go on a sim only, to contract with a new phone, and as regards 'pay as you go' all the companies were pushing these recurring 'bundles' that being buy a bundle every month, and you get unlimited calls and texts, the relevant pricing structure being in the amount of 'data' you get every month, and to me it seems that having to buy a bundle very month on pay as you go, is no different to being on a contract, it is just more expensive, but you do have the option to opt out any time yoo like, you are not fixed to a time period as per a contract phone.

The best deal I found for 'true' just 'pay as you go' phone calls, that being if you stick a tenner on your phone, that tenner stays on your phone until you have used it for voice calls only, and none of that data crap, and it was 'Three' who had the best deal going, but that was in January, so I don't know what the situation out there is now.

I actually went for a contract with new phone, which is what I have done for about ten years now, everything is inclooded in the contract, plus a good few gigabytes of data

And I will tell you why, and it is because more and more aspects of life are becoming digitised, and yoo need a phone to operate these digitised services, using it as a computer, rather than a voice phone, and as most you will be aware these devices are called 'smart phones' and yoo need them for everything now including work, so you now need a 'smart phone' and you need to have a newish smart phone, which has all of the up to date software and security in it,

Latest is this LINK that being that driving licences and MOT certificates will be from 2024 in digital form only, and you will need an 'application' (app) on your phone to view your driving license and vehicle MOT, and that is being brought about because we have left the EU

So why am I waving about it, well it is because it is good, it is 'progress' and like cashless shopping, I am EMBRACING it
