PeterP: Agreed. Also, their parents/guardians get benefits for them. Child allowance, tax credits. These children have far, far more than we did when we were that age. The £10 p.a. for pensioners to use the trains in GM is a disgrace.

Anne: Blackpool trams are definitely owned/run by Blackpool Council and I'm pretty sure that TTS is correct about all the others, in fact I can't think of any private tram companies in the UK, maybe that one in the IOM.
