Once again the belief that I have paid NI/taxes all my life surfaces. You did not pay these monies in for your future benefit, you were paying it for the retired of your generation as the present workforce is now paying for your retirement pensions etc.
Paying into a works or private pension fund is quite different, yes you were paying that for future benefit on retirement.
